Project : FRAME HOUSE

Location : Baan Tai, Koh Phangan

Architect : Infidia Studio Co.,Ltd.

Project Year : 2025

A small steel-framed house nestled within a vast forest. The crisp white exterior stands in striking contrast to the lush green landscape, allowing both the architecture and the surrounding nature to enhance one another.

The ground floor accommodates the living room, dining area, and kitchen. A full-height glazed façade on the eastern side frames the surrounding forest like a living piece of art, offering the homeowner a beautiful view every morning before heading out for the day.

The upper floor is designed with a double-façade system. The outer layer is constructed from expanded steel mesh, while the inner layer consists of large sliding glass doors. This creates a semi-private living space where natural ventilation can continue to flow even when the glass doors are open and the outer façade remains closed. At the same time, the mesh screen provides privacy by gently filtering views from the outside.

At certain moments in the morning, the building’s white surfaces evoke a calm and tranquil atmosphere under the soft sunlight. As the day progresses, the stronger afternoon light transforms the façade into a bright, reflective presence. The white architecture becomes like a work of art, continuously changing its character in response to the surrounding natural environment.

Inside, the house embraces a minimalist approach with only essential furnishings. A simple sofa, television, exposed concrete kitchen counter, and folded steel staircase create an understated interior that feels calm, uncluttered, and comfortable—where simplicity becomes the essence of everyday living.
